We met at a Christian Singles Retreat hosted by Carole’s church, Christ Lutheran.  Carole had suffered two divorces and I one, and we both had two children.  After a courtship period, we decided to marry on July 20, 1991 and I became a member of Christ Lutheran, transferring my membership from Trinity Lutheran.

Carole’s two boy’s, Nathan and Ryan, lived with us and we purchased a home in Post Oak Farm subdivision where we still live today. My two children, Tim and Jenny were much older and had already moved from home.

Carole had a school teaching career and retired in the Spring of 2009 and I enjoyed a career with the U.S. EPA and retired at the end of 2011.

In 1994 we were asked to head up a Divorce Care ministry at Christ Lutheran which we led until the Spring of 2012 when I lost my ability to speak due to my ALS. So our lives have changed drastically as my ALS seems to be moving rapidly and weakens my muscles.  We have our moments, but we take one day at a time seeking and receiving God’s grace and comfort.  We celebrate the 21 years that God has granted us and blessed us with joy and prosperity.  God has been good to us and we have not reason to complain.  Our prayer is that as we walk this road that our faith in Jesus Christ will shine and bring all the Glory to Him.
