Thank You Friends and Visitors
What follows below is the final post that Les was working on Tuesday afternoon,
Dec 4, 2012
My current condition:
I have been told the end is near, I am ready. My only fear is that it won’t come soon enough, for without a voice to tell caregivers what hurts and what’s wrong; it is very frustrating to me the patient and caregivers ..My hands are vitually worthless, so hand signs are out.
I have always felt from the beginning of my getting this disease that God is using my disease to demonstrate how a Christian viewpont gives hope where there is no hope . God has used….
Les never got to finish his thought above. But it is our belief that he was about to say that God has used him and his disease to minister to the hearts and souls of so many, including scores that he has never met, and what a true blessing this has been to him.
His wish upon his retirement was to continue to share god’s message…he just hadn’t figured out how best to utilize his golden years to serve this purpose, until his diagnosis this past January. Then, through this blog and through his posts on Facebook, he touched more lives and than he could have ever imagined. At the time of this writing, Les’ blog has been read by 1000’s of visitors, and he rests peacefully knowing he more than reached his goal.
Les has recently slipped gently into a medically induced coma and is being given the utmost care and attention to ensure that his passing is peaceful. His entire family is by his side, and for a brief moment today he was awake enough to be emotionally and physically responsive, as each member of the family expressed their love and shared memories.
From the bottom of our hearts, our family would like to thank each and every one of you who have taken the time to visit Les’ blog and share this journey with him. It has meant so much to him be able to share his faith and message of faith, love and optimism.
It is our sincere hope that through this blog, Les’ message of hope and courage, strength and faith, will continue to live on. If this blog has touched you, please share it and continue to allow Les to minister to others for years to come.
