Our Wedding Anniversary
True “Soul Mates” from the beginning
Since I spent most of the 2 weeks prior to our 21st wedding anniversay on July 20 in the hospital with Carole faithfully spending the nights beside me, neither of us had a card to give so we decided to read the cards that we had given to each other over the past 20 years. That proved to be an excellent plan and we saw that we considered each other “soul mates” from the beginning and even more so today. I am truly a blest man to have Carole willingly at my side and in her words “she will always be there, no matter what”. So we walk this road together taking and appreciating each day and trusting our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to sustain us. It is so much easier to trust in Christ for strenght each day. It is not necessary to “go it alone”, even if we could.
“Love Languages”
Several people have mentioned to us that they have observed us in church and our bodies are always touching and our arms are frequently around each other’s waist. I wrote a piece about this to our last Divorce Care group this Spring when I addressed the issues of “Love Languages” and “psychological needs” of spouses. Click here to read this article. His Needs Her Needs by Les Vahsholtz – Spring 2012 .
Carole & I speak the same “Love Language” and we list the same top 5 emotional needs as the most important to us individually. We believe that knowing and understanding this can help husbands and wives bond their marriages closer together.

Hey, Les and Carole –
Great blog and I even got logged in. Hopefully this will work and I can keep in touch easy and not be overcome w/ blogginess. I’ve never done this before and who knows this may be the beginning of a new adventure for me.
Your “divorce counseling” paper was outstanding.
Talk to you more later – Hugs and love, Marge
Thanks, Marge. See, you can teach “older” dogs new tricks!
It is good to be here and to see you again. I just wish, as I am sure you do to, that it was under different circumstances. I plan to see a lot more of you.

God bless you both! Your faith witness is beautiful! You both are in my prayers. The peace of the Lord be with you. Ellie
